With wedding season being in full force, weekends off are a rarity. I love what I do, so giving up weekends is natural, but getting a weekend in the summer to play… is exciting! I grabbed my boyfriend and headed to Depoe Bay, Oregon for the night. We stayed at the cutest inn on the edge of a cliff, which overlooked Depoe Bay, Oregon called Inn at Arch Rock. We found it online and were kind of unsure, but the rooms were extremely clean and had a spectacular view. A rickety old “you use at your own risk” staircase took you down to Inn at Arch Rock‘s private beach. The most exciting part to me, besides getting to spend two full days with my boyfriend, was seeing blue whales right from our room! It was absolutely incredible! Being a wedding planner, I couldn’t help, but start thinking of how the Inn could be turned in to one of the most spectacular wedding venues… Through the town of Depoe Bay, it was hard not to see wedding venue possibilities everywhere. I can’t think of a more beautiful place to get married on the Oregon Coast than Gleneden Beach and Depoe Bay. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from our vacation…

Darren and I went to Newport, Oregon and visited the Oregon Coast Aquarium

We stopped by Devils Punch Bowl and Flying Dutchman Winery, where we tasted the most delicious Blackberry wine

Went to Gleneden Beach and stopped by Fogarty State Park where I recently helped a neighbor with their wedding… gorgeous!

Watched the beautiful sunset…

The next morning we watched the whales play in the bay and then headed to Lincoln City to visit the Chinook Winds Casino, eat at McMenamins Lighthouse Brewpub and fly a kite…


I highly recommend staying at Inn at Arch Rock and checking out the whales…
