Day 5 of 30: Vibrant Table Flowers
When I began to think of how to describe Page Winograd the first word that came to mind was vibrant, but that seemed a little cliché, seeing as the company she works for is Vibrant Table Flowers. Page has a fun loving, bubbly and energetic personality! She is someone you instantly feel like you want to know more! She’s creative and always looking to think outside of the box…
Introducing, Page with Vibrant Table Flowers...
Champagne: How did you decide you wanted to be a florist?
Page: I kind of fell into it… when I was small, I would make arrangements for my Mom out of her garden flowers and the neighbor’s violets [I am sure they were thrilled by that- ha!], and she and my father always had me doing creative projects- everything in our household was homemade- no pre-made Valentine’s for me! When I was a teenager I wanted a job, and I was expected to join the family business. The family business was a large grocery store chain- thank goodness they had a floral division- it sure beat bagging groceries! I started scrubbing buckets at 14, designing shortly after, and by 18 I was out of the grocery and was firmly ensconced in the special events department of the largest florist in my home town. I was crazy about weddings even then, and every day would wake up and wonder, “OK, what HAVEN’T we done?” I still ask that question every day at Vibrant Table, and what I really love about VT is that the possibilities are endless. By the end of every event, I fall in love with flowers and being a florist all over again. I certainly never would have guessed that I would do the same job for over 20 years, but it’s different every day and that is such a trip!

Champagne: What are 3 things you love about being a florist?
Page: Easy! I love flowers- they are amazing and spectacular and all have their own fabulous personalities. Being a florist allows me to meet people every day- I love being social! And above all I love the opportunity to be creative- I never do the same thing twice and I am constantly challenged.

Champagne: How would you describe your ideal client?
Page: Someone in love with flowers who trusts me enough to take their basic ideas and color scheme and run wild. That client is the one who lets me work to my full potential- LOVE!

Champagne: What do you like to do in your spare time?
Page: Yoga! I teach, although I don’t have a lot of spare time to teach these days. I also read when I can, I love to dance, pretty much anything crafty is fun to me, and I love to cook. And I love hanging out with my husband and my friends.

Champagne: How would you describe your floral style?
Page: In a phrase?? Sexy eclectic. Textural, colorful, unusual and crazy. I can really “do” any style- but my own personal style always involves aspects of the unusual. I love combining flowers with found objects, putting together the unexpected, and getting really down and dirty and creative- not business as usual, please!

Champagne: Anything else you’d want your potential clients to know?
Page: Vibrant Flowersis for everyone- you don’t have to be using Vibrant Table as the caterer to have our designs at your event. Go seasonal- you will get much more for your dollar. Don’t be afraid to let go a little and trust us- the secret to getting the most amazing designs from your floral artist is to give them a basic idea of what you want [and definitely what you DON’T want] and then let them go wild. Our clients’ favorite designs always come from a marriage of good communication and creativity. We pay attention to every detail- and we aren’t happy until you are happy. We can do anything… no joke. Really, we pride ourselves on it. Just ask us!
Champagne: Thank you, Page, for telling us more about Vibrant Table Flowers! We are looking forward to working with you soon! Make sure to check out Vibrant Table Flowers website!
