Happy Tuesday! Day 18, Get to know Robin and Erik with Paparazzi Tonight Photo Booth!

Champagne: What is Paparazzi Tonight?

Paparazzi Tonight: We are a red carpet, open-air interactive photo experience for events of all types. We’re similar to a photo booth yet with fundamental differences such as being able to accommodate groups up to 20, having two live photographers, and providing prints for everyone in each shot immediately after being taken. Our primary goal is to engage guest participation by creating a fun, meaningful activity for them while at the same time capturing their comments and photos for the bride and groom in a one-of-a-kind custom guest album. Guests seem to enjoy having a role to play in the reception, a way to give back to the bride and groom with their comments and photos. Instant photo slideshows are also very popular. Our photographs are edited and available for free high-res download as an on-going wedding favor from the bride and groom.

Champagne: How did Paparazzi Tonight start?

Paparazzi Tonight: Robin had a mild traumatic brain injury in 2005 before our wedding in 2007. Her short term memory was still recovering. She knew she wouldn’t remember many of the details, so we wanted great photos of everything on our wedding day. We hired AJ’s Studio to capture all the artistic, beautiful images. They are beyond great! We highly recommend them!!

Robin also wanted to have pictures of all our guests….what they were wearing, the fun they were having, etc., so she could remember our day. We first investigated Polaroids. They were very expensive and could only be used as a “guest book” station with people taking pictures of themselves. Then, we investigated traditional box photo booths. Since our officiant, Stan Kramien, had disability issues, they were immediately ruled out for ADA reasons. Erik was a partner in Rhino Digital Printing and began putting together a system that would cover multiple wedding costs with one service; the guest book for us, entertainment for everyone at the reception, generous favors for all our guests and the ongoing wedding favor of free high res downloads for everyone.

Champagne: What can a photo booth do that a photographer can’t?

Paparazzi Tonight: We are entertainers and we are printers.  Our job is to interact with all guests on an individual basis, getting them to relax and have fun while recording the evening for the bride and groom. We help them with props and posing ideas. We consider ourselves printers because of Erik’s printing expertise. We are experts in keeping people moving with under a minute wait times for print outs.

Champagne: Do the guests get a copy of the photo?

Paparazzi Tonight: Absolutely! Every guest in every shot gets a copy of their picture immediately. Many couples use us as wedding favors.

Champagne: What about the bride and groom?

Paparazzi Tonight: Yes, the bride and groom get copies in the guest book, including many single 4x6’s of the extra good photos. They can also get a copy of all the high res images on disk.

Champagne: Do you have props for people to dress up in? If so, do they get to chose what style for their wedding?

Paparazzi Tonight: We most definitely have props, over 2,000. Brides will let us know the wedding style, colors, theme, their hobbies. We custom package a set of props that speaks to them. No tacky viking hats here!

Champagne: What do you do, when you’re not doing what you do?

Paparazzi Tonight: We travel a great deal & enjoy great food. We have lots of animals at our N. Portland home all rescues….2 cats, 2 dogs, 7 chickens, and a bunny!

Champagne: Is there anything else you’d like our readers to know?

Paparazzi Tonight: We have had full 20+ year careers in other industries. The satisfaction of making successful events is our passion now. We strive very hard to make each event the very best it can be….the most memorable…the most treasured. Capturing moments of people totally enjoying themselves in photos is such a great way to record a wedding!

“The wedding was ABSOLUTELY amazing, and the photobooth truly made the event as wonderful as it was.  Everyone keeps talking about how much fun it was, and how it made the event stand out from the other weddings they have been to.  It was honestly the best thing we could have done for the wedding, and I’m so grateful to Robin and Alli for doing such a great job.  Not only were they very professional, but they kept everyone organized and excited! We have looked through our guest book so many times already, and we just laugh and smile everytime we open it. What an amazing service you provide. Thanks again for making our wedding so spectacular!”
A rave from clients, Amy and Ryley, who had gotten married at Oregon Golf Club and were huge University of Oregon fans- leading us to have many yellow and green props!

Champagne: Thank you, Robin and Erik [Paparazzi Tonight], for telling us more about your company! Make sure to check out their website and become a fan on facebook!
