Bella Via: Simply Stunning

0 Comments • Posted by Champagne on April 22, 2011

When I first walked into Bella Via I instantly fell in love! The warm gold tones along with the cool gray really allows the space to be whatever style you want it to be! To showcase the space I wanted to create a mock wedding so brides could envision how their wedding could look!  To do this we decided to go with the tones of the room and create something simple and clean, with white and silver and gold accents.  We carried this look throughout the whole venue and chose a very classic look from a simple elegant cake to white roses and lilies to the brides hair and makeup. We hope this is able to give you an idea of what Bella Via can look like, but also not overwhelm you with one color verse another or style, so you are able to envision what fits your unique style!  This tones make the beauty of the space shine through from the crystal chandeliers to the silver and gold and silver accented wallpaper.

A huge thank you to all the vendors involved:

Day 23 of 30: Nicole Wagner Make up

Day 23, get gorgeous with Nicole Wagner of Nicole Wagner Make up!

Champagne:  When/how did you decide you wanted to be a hair/make up artist?

Nicole Wagner Make up: When I was a teenager, but I never pursued it until after I had my first daughter. I have always loved drawing faces and have always had artistic talent…doing makeup is like painting on a 3D canvas. I was bout 15yrs old when I discovered what a difference it made on myself….I was addicted.

Champagne: What’s your favorite part about your job?

Nicole Wagner Make up: hmm…that’s a tough one. I love SO many things about my job. I love helping women feel beautiful. Seeing the joy on their faces, it is so rewarding.

image

Champagne:  I do my hair and make up every day, why do I need it done professionally?

Nicole Wagner Make up: Well. Most women can do a decent job for their everyday makeup but until they come for their trial run with me, they don’t fully understand all the steps and layers that go into creating a beautiful, flawless, camera ready makeup that doesn’t look cakey or overdone. There are primers and blending (LOTS OF BLENDING), and contouring and highlighting to shape the face…not to mention individual lashes, delicately placed. You have to know and understand lighting and the time of day you will be taking your pictures….I could go on an on : )
There are a few exceptions but most women are just not familiar with all these important steps and techniques and it makes a world of difference in your pictures and that is why it is so important.

Champagne: I want to get my make up done, but I don’t want to look like a clown. What would your response be?

Nicole Wagner Make up: Lucky for you I don’t specialize in ‘clown makeup! LOL!!  I will make you look like the most beautiful version of yourself. : ) I ask LOTS of questions to make sure I don’t step over any boundaries or do anything you’re not comfortable with or is not your personal style.

Champagne: How would you explain your style?

Nicole Wagner Make up: I would say my style is Red Carpet. I love the look that is glamorous, sexy, beautiful but not gaudy or overdone. The kind that when people look at you they think “Holy Cow she looks amazing!”. We have this joke that my style is called “Naturally dramatic” (which is kind of a an oxi-moron right?) but everyone tells me that they love how “natural” the makeup looks on my website but the truth is that most of the brides on my website are wearing A LOT of makeup. The trick is doing it right! If you do it right, and choose the right colors you will look amazing and photograph amazing and not look like you have too much makeup on : )

Champagne: Let’s say a bride uses Bare Minerals, do you have something that would work for them?

Nicole Wagner Make up:  In MY opinion, Bare Minerals is GREAT for EVERY DAY makeup but not for weddings. I personally would never use it for a wedding. I like to use a long wearing matte liquid makeup for your big day. If you want a glowy look, we’ll do that with some powders but you want to make sure that makeup stays for a good 18hrs! I only use a small drop on your whole face so you honestly cannot even feel it and you will look flawless : )

Champagne: What do you do, when you’re not doing, what you do?

Nicole Wagner Make up: Well, I stay busy that’s for sure! I take care of my 2 daughters who are 3 and 6 and my wonderful husband, hold trainings for my new team of artists and run a lot. My life gets pretty hectic. I will be starting my official training for a full marathon soon. It’s going to be a juggling act but I’m up for the challenge! : )

Champagne: Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?

Nicole Wagner Make up: Don’t cut yourself short on good hair/makeup. When it’s all said and done, all you have are your memories and your photos…and how you LOOK in those photos-you want to look the very best you’ve ever looked in your life.

Real Wedding: Jen + Ben 6.26.10

We are so excited to share with you what we’ve been up to over the summer months or as we call it “Wedding Season”! Rachelle coordinated this gorgeous vineyard wedding a few months ago… enjoy!

I first met with Jen and Ben over 18 months before their wedding. At the time we met, I knew their wedding would be the dreamy, fairytale type, and I was very excited to be a part of it! Jen and Ben have such a strong relationship, and they do most of it from a distance! It’s absolute true love, and they are living proof that love can conquer any challenge!

Their wedding day was full of romantic and personal touches, with all the right amounts of fun and celebration thrown in as well!!  With a line up of top-notch vendors, the day was absolutely wonderful. Their beautiful and romantic wedding was so much fun to be involved in, and the guests had a blast dancing the night away as the sun set over a beautiful vineyard setting.
