Almost 2 months ago I shared details on my recent engagement! I can’t believe how much has happened in just 58 days or that in 89 days I’ll be Mrs. Wiley! While it’s the middle of wedding season and my first priority has been and always will be my clients, we’ve been doing some planning a few hours a week. I’ve had many ask what it’s been like planning my own wedding and so I thought I’d do a post to update you on the details. I have to say, planning for us has been much harder than it is helping clients! Here’s why… I know too much. No, really, I know too many amazing vendors. There are many vendors in every category that I wanted to use, but two things helped me make decisions- our budget and the other- Darren! He’s been an huge help through out everything and it’s been so much fun trying to be a real bride! Since we couldn’t really shop around for vendors, I’d show Darren different websites and he’d say who he liked and we narrowed it down and made a decision. Getting married 147 days after getting engaged definitely helps the decision making process!
While some things we are keeping a secret til the wedding- we thought we’d share with you a few of the vendors we have lined up so far! We had such a hard time picking out of all of the talented vendors that I know and if we could have had it our way we would have picked more than one in all categories!
Photographers: Yasmin Khajavi Photography & Laura Marchbanks Photography - Darren was a huge part of this decision and I couldn’t be more excited! When I think of Yasmin and Laura they bring a huge smile to my face! They are both, not only extremely talented, but two of the most thoughtful, energetic and fun people I know! I can’t wait to see what they can do! We have our engagement session set with Yasmin at the beginning of October- I can’t wait! [I’ve heard rumors that a few local photographers have a bet going about who we picked. If no one got it right, we better win!]
Videographer: Focal Point Digital Media- Ryan was the videographer at my best friend, Aja’s, wedding 5 years ago and Darren’s best friend, Osiris’s, wedding, also 5 years ago- since then, we’ve worked together countless times and couldn’t image him not being a part of our day!
Invitations: Paper Bloom Invitation Design Studio [Formally Lindsmarie Designs] - I met Lindsay for the first time over a year ago, but we met for coffee and crepes a few months ago and after seeing all of her recent invitation designs I knew that she’d be the perfect match for us! We met today to talk more about our design and can’t wait to send it to print!
Caterer: Crave Catering- Not only do they have delicious food, but they have phenomenal customer service!
Hair & Make up: Nicole Wagner & Face Body Beauty- Nicole and Jennifer are so extremely talented! I’ve had the honor of getting my hair and make up done by both of them a few times this year and am so excited for them to both be a part of our wedding day!
Cake: DreamCakes- One word- DELICIOUS!! Since the first time I had DreamCakes, about 6 years ago- I’ve been in love! My friend, Christie, and I would start talking about her cakes and wouldn’t stop raving about how delicious it was for at least 15 minutes! I’ve tasted many cakes and none compare to Judy’s! So excited for all of our guests to indulge in the delcliousness!
Flowers: Blum Design in Flowers- Jordan’s work is gorgeous! I’m so excited to see all of our ideas come to life!!
DJ: Event Team Entertainment- Finding quality entertainment for your wedding is key to a good party! We’re so excited to have Shawn and his team on board to get the party started!!
Wedding Dress: AniA Collection- I can’t share details about my beautiful Jim Hjelm dress, but I’m so excited!!!!
Bridesmaid Dresses: White House Black Market- Simple, cute, affordable and they could actually wear them again! White House Black Market has since launched a new wedding line!
You’ll have to wait for later for the other details, but thank you so much for following our journey!! We are so excited for the big day and can’t wait to be Mr. & Mrs. Wiley!!
Happy Planning!!
Cheers,
Mandi
